At South Georgia Pecan’s Western Production Facility, we recently hosted Safety Week—a dedicated time to train, educate, and inspire a stronger, safer work culture for all employees.
Both day and night shift teams took part in small-group safety workshops filled with interactive training, live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and fun games. Topics ranged from general safety awareness to more focused training on personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, ladder safety, hazard communication, and more.
Through realistic demos and practice scenarios, employees learned the importance of staying alert, following procedures, and working with safety in mind—not just for themselves, but for the loved ones waiting for them at home.
To make safety training even more engaging, we ended each session with a pizza party and safety-themed games, giving everyone a chance to apply what they learned in a fun and memorable way.
We also had a Work Wear Safety Pop-Up Store on-site, where employees could purchase safety shoes using the company’s 50% incentive—another step in helping our team stay protected on the job.
One of the highlights of the week was the Immersive Factory Virtual Reality Station, allowing employees to experience safety challenges in a digital environment that was both educational and entertaining.
To close out the week, we celebrated with a Safety Raffle, recognizing our collective effort in making safety a daily priority.
A huge shoutout to Marcos Melendez, our Safety and Training Coordinator, for organizing and leading this impactful event. His dedication and planning helped make Safety Week not only a success—but a valuable step forward in protecting our team.
At South Georgia Pecan, safety isn’t just a rule—it’s a responsibility we all share. Let’s keep working safe, together.
